I really need some kind of "drawing" icon.

Hey artists! Question time.

[Poll #1727197]

Could you also please explain your reasoning for whatever answer you've chosen? I am curious.

I still post to it...it's easier than updating my website, and gets the most response *shrug* Plus I'm not on anything else art-community wise so it's not like I have options! XD

Oh god, updating websites? What is that?
Would you say you're still making friends on DA? Or is it more just a way to show your art?

Ehh, not so much with the friends. I have made some good business connections for freelancing, but mostly I think of DA as a showcase.

So here's the next question: Is this how you ALWAYS thought of DA? Or did you USED to make friends there?

Basically, would you say that it's changed?

That's how I've always thought of it! I never frequented the forums or joined in memes/events/etc on there. A couple people I began to recognize from comments, and every now and again I'd buy from/sell to other artists on there that I admired, or did art trades...but nothing I'd really consider a "friendship" came out of it. Just kind of mutual artist respect. I did discover some new artists to watch through it though, and still do.

TL;DR The only changes I notice are the interface!

Ah, see, for me DA was as much about the community as it was about the art itself; I made some really awesome friends there, many of whom are still hinging around with me. I fear if I went back it would only be like a weird, expanded portfolio, and I'm not sure how much Id keep up with that. :/

Ahh...yeah, totally different from my experience of it XD
How's Tumblr so far? I'm not even sure WHAT it is...seems like it's the new thing, now I'm beginning to wonder if I ought to hop on that bandwagon!

It's kind of... well, it's the sort of thing that you won't really see the appeal of until you have one. I don't *think* there are ways to lock it, but it's got these different sections; like one for "journal" entries, and one for photos/pictures and one for quotes you like and so forth, and they all show up in your friends' watchlist. And if you like something on your friend's posts, you can reblog it and share it more.
It's a very public sort of thing, which has both its appeal and its drawbacks. But its definitely neat.
