This! Stupid, stupid people grasping at normalcy when they have wonder and other worlds. *is jealous*
I know, right? I always feel vaguely like the writers of such stories either once wanted a fantastic life and found they couldn't get one and so write characters like that so they feel better in their "normal" lives, or only read fantasy to begin with because they COULDN'T be "normal" for some reason. And then I just assume that they weren't trying hard enough to have adventures. Because, I mean, I've had a few adventures, and let me tell you, even if they don't have dragons, they're still pretty awesome, and I plan to have more.
